Points & Quiz is the slot mode that best expresses “study first, play later” (merged from points use + quiz earning since 2026-09-29): points are spent first, the quiz enters fullscreen-exclusive mode automatically when points run out, and after finishing (completion mark) points can be spent again. The former quiz window mode and answer-count unlock settings were retired with the merge.
How do I make answering questions mandatory before play?
Check Points & Quiz for the slot: with points available the child uses the PC normally while points tick down per second (1 point = 60 seconds); when points run out the quiz enters fullscreen-exclusive mode (exit needs the parent password or 110), and while exclusively locked any remaining points can be redeemed at any time. Steps below.
Parent setup steps
- 01
Set the grade first
Settings → Question bank → pick Grade (saved on selection); the version and units are left to the child.
- 02
Check Points & Quiz for the slot
Settings → Time Management → Edit slot → tick Points & Quiz under Slot mode (optionally add Timed use).
- 03
Save and apply
Save, then click Apply Now; in the web console click Save and apply to device and wait one heartbeat.
Locking and redemption under Points & Quiz
| Phase | Can the child close it? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Points available | No quiz window; normal use while points tick down per second (1 point = 60 seconds) | Points are spent first; no questions required upfront |
| Points run out | Quiz goes fullscreen-exclusive automatically: Esc / Alt+F4 are blocked; the parent password or 110 is required | The quiz exclusively owns the desktop |
| While exclusively locked | The Use time points button is available and any points can be redeemed anytime (hidden only when the lock reason is “time limit reached”) | A completion mark is set after finishing; the same slot won't auto-prompt again after restart |
What does the child see?
- The lock screen steps aside: at the slot start it closes within 1 second and Select quiz opens immediately, with no usable desktop gap in between.
- Six levels, strictly in order: stage ① → subject ② → textbook version ③ → book ④ → unit ⑤ → lesson ⑥. The next level unlocks only after the previous has a concrete value; changing an upper level resets the ones below.
- Each option shows the question count and today's done count (e.g. “Unit 3 (12 questions · 5 done today)”), with “12 questions available” at the bottom.
- In the quiz window they can tick Wrong-first (recently missed questions come first); while exclusively locked, the Use time points button is available and any points can be redeemed.
